Pick up: 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 7. Parents must sign out their camper.

Worship Band: City on a Hill from Olivet Nazarene University
Speaker: Tim Miller – Tim has served in various ministry capacities since 2004 and is currently pursuing advanced theological education (ThM) at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Tim is a a long time member of the Camp Awana family.
Weekend Message Theme: John 15:5 — Christianity isn’t just about what happens to you when you die (heaven or hell): Jesus offers us the opportunity to live a fruitful life now, and apart from him we can do nothing.
*Who: All 6th-8th graders are welcome. Come as a youth group or as an individual.
*What: The 5th Annual Avalanche Winter Retreat. Join us for an incredible weekend with old and new friends, great food, a live band, high-energy activities, team competitions, small group discussion, and encouraging and challenging large group messages from the Bible, and team competitions. Activities include daytime and nighttime tubing, a toboggan slide, (We have a snow making system, so as long as it is cold, we will have snow), broom ball on the frozen lake, ice skating, game room (ping pong, foosball, carpetball, and air hockey), full-sized gym (basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, etc.), and playing board games while enjoying your favorite snacks next to the fireplace in the Canteen.

*Why: Because middle schoolers are awesome and deserve their own weekend at Camp Awana.
*Cost: $110/student. Includes T-Shirt.
*What to Bring: Pillow, Sheets (Twin Size Mattress) and sleeping bag or blanket, winter coat, gloves, hat, snow boots, warm clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, towels, deodorant, Bible, pen, notebook, flashlight, shoes for the gym, and spending money for the Canteen Snack Shop.
Medication: All medication (prescription/over the counter) is required to be turned in to our licensed medical staff. Please send all necessary medicines clearly labeled with campers name in a Ziploc bag. Epi-pens, inhalers and other rescue devices will be held by the camper or his/her leader.
*What Not to Bring: Including but not limited to: cell phones (collected by cabin leader and given back on sunday), radios/cd players/mp3 players, video games, weapons, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol, fireworks, and anything questionable. please use good judgment.
*Check in/registration will be in the Mess Hall at Camp Awana on Friday, January 5th starting at 8:00 p.m. We will have a hot dog and fries snack at 9:30 p.m.
*All parents are asked to pick up their camper at Camp Awana by 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 7th.
*Transportation will be available from the North Side Gospel Center, 3859 N. Central Ave. Chicago, IL to Camp Awana for an additional fee of $30. Space is limited and will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. Sign up on registration form. Transportation departs from the Center on Friday, January 5th at 6:00 p.m. and returns to the Center on Sunday, January 7th by 4:15 p.m.
